A boudoir session is an amazing opportunity to celebrate your beauty, embrace your uniqueness, and capture stunning images that radiate confidence. But before you commit to this new experience, you may be feeling nervous and want to know what you can do to better prepare and ease those nerves! I got you, babe. In this blog post, I’ve put together four essential tips to help you get ready!
1. Don’t Fight Your Nerves—Embrace the New Experience: It’s completely normal to feel a mix of excitement and nerves before your boudoir session. Rather than trying to suppress those feelings, embrace them as a natural part of stepping outside your comfort zone. Recognize that this experience is about embracing your vulnerability and celebrating your unique self. Trust in your photographer’s expertise and the safe environment they provide. Allow yourself to be open to the experience, knowing that it has the potential to empower and uplift you in ways you never imagined.
2. Connect to Your Body Before Your Session: Obviously doing a boudoir session is a great way to intentionally connect to your body, but getting a head start is always great! Prior to your boudoir session, take time to connect with your body and cultivate a positive relationship with it. Engage in activities that help you feel present and in tune with yourself. Consider practices like yoga, exercising, or simply engaging in deep breathing exercises. Connecting with your body in this way will allow you to feel more present and confident during your session.
3. Have a Dance Party in Your Lingerie: This one is definitely my favorite and I will not deny that it’s something I regularly do, haha! What better way to boost your confidence and embrace your sensuality than by having a dance party in your favorite lingerie? Put on your favorite tunes, slip into one of your boudoir outfits, and have some fun! All cards on the table, I will likely dance at your session! I just can’t help it – we play lots of fun music and end up having so much fun together! So, crank up the music, let go of inhibitions, and dance like nobody’s watching!
4. Don’t Forget to Eat Breakfast: Amidst the excitement and preparations, it’s essential not to forget one vital thing: breakfast! Nothing’s worse than being hungry AND nervous. Fueling your body with a nutritious meal before your session will provide you with the energy – I definitely don’t want you passing out on me. It doesn’t need to be a heavy meal, but please don’t come on a completely empty stomach.
As you prepare for your boudoir session, remember to embrace the new experience with all its nerves and excitement. Connect with your body, cultivate a positive mindset, and let your inner goddess shine through. Have a dance party in your lingerie to boost your confidence and enjoy the journey of self-expression. And most importantly, don’t forget to nourish your body with a delicious breakfast.
